Laura Lengel

Laura Shaip Lengel

Laura Shaip Lengel is the new Director of Dance Arts Studio beginning July 1, 2016. Laura began dance training in Danville, VA and attended Mary Washington College earning a BA Degree in Dance. After performing with the Richmond Ballet Theater and in Unto These Hills in Cherokee, NC, she settled in Macon. Laura has taught ballet, tap, jazz, and modern dance at Dance Arts Studio, Wesleyan College, Gladys Lasky School of Ballet, and Macon School of Gymnastics.

Laura has served on the board for Middle Georgia Youth Ballet since 1997, the last three years as president, and is a faculty member. She has served as an Assistant Director for Nutcracker of Middle Georgia and leads Worship Moves dance ministry at Ingleside Baptist Church.

Alice Sheridan

Alice Strawn Sheridan

Alice Strawn Sheridan, (ballet, pointe), a native of Macon, began her training at Dance Arts Studio and Gladys Lasky School of Ballet. She attended the North Carolina School of Arts for four years where she trained with Melissa Hayden, Duncan Noble, Mimi Paul, Fanchon Cordell and other world renowned faculty members and guest artists. She spent two summers in Italy with a student company from NCSA, studying and performing. After graduating, she danced with the Milwaukee Ballet for several years under the direction of Ted Kivitt.

Recently appointed as the Artistic Director of Nutcracker of Middle Georgia, she has been the Assistant Director of Nutcracker of Middle Georgia for over 20 Years. She is celebrating her 29th year on the ballet faculty of Dance Arts Studio, and is a founding faculty member of the Middle Georgia Youth Ballet. Her students have gone on to study with such prestigious schools as the School of American Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Boston Ballet, and the National Ballet of Canada.

Alice Sheridan

Lindsay Misch Crisp
Ballet, Jazz, and Modern

Lindsay Misch Crisp (ballet, pointe, jazz, modern) studied dance in Macon before graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in dance education. She attended American Dance Festival in Durham, North Carolina and performed with the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange’s Hallelujah Project. Lindsay studied in ProDanza Italia in Castiglioncello, Italy. She currently serves on the faculty of Dance Arts Studio, Middle Georgia Youth Ballet, is an assistant director of Nutcracker of Middle Georgia, and teaches dance in the fine arts program at Vineville Academy of the Arts.
